Ireland Round Trip - 15th-29th August 2010

The Challenge

Ireland Map

I am cycling a (clockwise) circular route around Ireland this summer, on my own, although my family are also making the journey by car. Their valuable support means that I do not have to carry much with me, so I can use a lightweight road bike. I will create diary links each day in the space below, for you to see exactly how the trip goes. The daily blog might not be posted until late in the evening.

Latest News

This August I will be cycling around Ireland (both parts) in a clockwise direction, starting and finishing in Rosslare. After Land's End to John O'Groats in 2008 (here) and my coast-to-coast last year (here), this is my third annual challenge on my increasingly well-travelled bike.

I'll be writing an online blog again (the links will be on the left), so you will be able to see whether I'm enjoying the craic or suffering in the rain. I'm not really asking for sponsorship money again this year, as so many people have already been very generous, but if anyone feels like giving, I am supporting the same charity: CHICKS (Country Holidays for Inner City Kids), which offers free, 6-day residential respite breaks for disadvantaged children from across the UK. To sponsor my challenge please click HERE. You can read more about CHICKS on their website, HERE.

Thank you very much to those who have generously donated.
